New Harvest VISTA Summer Associate: Welcome Skye!
08 Aug 2023, by in Harvest Blog, Elk Run Farm, Harvest Summer AssociateAs a Harvest VISTA member in the AmeriCorps Harvest VISTA program at Elk Run Farm, Skye will be assisting in implementation of farm outreach and educational efforts, helping with all aspects of fruit and vegetable production and distribution, and upkeeping documentation of volunteer, harvest, and farm data.
Skye was born in Indiana but has lived in Washington most of her life. A recent high school graduate, Skye has spent much time volunteering for and being an intern at Elk Run Farm where she grew passionate about the Farm’s goals of food justice and equity, as well as how it provides a community place and educational opportunity.
Skye will be attending Western Washington University after this summer, where she hopes to pursue pre-law studies. She loves to bake and hopes to eventually start a garden of her own at home to grow fruits and vegetables. Her other hobbies include reading and tabletop roleplaying games.
