The King County Farmer’s Share (KCFS), a project coordinated by Harvest Against Hunger, Hopelink, the South King County Food Coalition, and Seattle Food Committee, aims to build the capacity of the regional hunger relief system to break cycles of poverty and hunger in King County. The Farm to Community VISTA will work with KCFS to increase the amount and variety of fresh produce available for food insecure populations.
They will establish and coordinate relationships between growers and food banks, ultimately creating a model that can be scaled and shared with communities across Washington state and the country. Duties will include coordinating the launch of programs across participating sites while responding to COVID 19-related concerns, tracking payments to farms, debriefing with partners to prepare for future seasons in absence of VISTA support, and others.
