New Harvest VISTA Member: Welcome Savannah!
16 Aug 2023, by in Harvest Blog, Concrete JungleSavannah Carter serves as an AmeriCorps VISTA member in the Harvest VISTA Program as a Farm Recovery Manager at Concrete Jungle to help alleviate poverty and decrease food-insecurity across Georgia.
Savannah Carter is a Georgia Southern University graduate, and she majored in Public Relations. Savannah was born and raised in Georgia. Savannah has spent her career working with youth development through 4-H and the production agricultural industry.
In an effort to expand capacity and the variety of fresh produce food programs receive and food recovery, Concrete Jungle launched their Produce Buyers Club program. Now in its second phase, Concrete Jungle has reached over Twelve organizations in the Atlanta area, helping to provide the produce to assist communities with fresh healthy options in their food pantry programs while working with an expanding network of Georgia farmers to provide food recovery for the program.
