Ashley Garman is currently serving as a Harvest VISTA Summer Associate with Vashon Food Bank in Vashon, Washington. Ashley supports the Picnic in the Park Summer Meals Program which provides thousands of lunches to local youth over the summer months when schools are closed. To help make sure schoolchildren are still accessing lunch throughout the summer, Ashley is helping with their volunteer support, assisting children with engaging activities while lunches are being distributed, writing a “A Picnic in the Park” program manual and developing end-of-season participant surveys.
